Woodlands for Wildlife Program

Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute

Through the Woodlands for Wildlife program, over 500 hectares of private woodlands in Kespukwitk have been protected as vital habitat for more than 20 species at risk. MTRI works with land stewards to identify important habitat and support conservation actions such as protective buffers, seasonal activity limits, and species-specific practices. Stewards are recognized for their efforts while gaining knowledge and resources to help the wildlife that depends on their forests!
