Priority Places / Community-Nominated Priority Places for Species at Risk in Atlantic Canada are actively monitored and stewarded by Birds Canada’s staff, volunteers, and partners. Our goal is to use monitoring information to guide on-the-ground stewardship actions that reduce threats to birds and keep habitats healthy for wildlife and communities. Our many initiatives, including volunteer-based programs for owls, marsh birds, nightjars, Piping Plovers, Chimney Swifts and Bank Swallows, have been tremendously successful through hours of work from our dedicated volunteers and strong partnerships with other organizations working in Atlantic Canada.
